PC Headset?

Okay, recently purchaced an Headset from Game (for PC)
- GAMEware professional Multi-Media Headset
I can get sound coming from the headphones, but the voice reciever won't pick anything up.
Yes the Jacks are all plugged in correctly
No Its not muted,
Any Ideas what it is?

My computer uses Realtek HD Audio Manager
Quad Core 2.4Ghz, 3Gb RAM, Windows Vista.

Oh realtek.. lol

I have a Realtek HD Audio manager too so lets see if I can guide you on this one.

1) Ok so first thing open the realtek control panel by either going into control panel or double clicking the icon on the taskbar (might be called Realtek HD Sound Effect Manager)

2)Click the "mixer" tab

3)On the top half (says Playback) click the ">" to scroll left until you reach the Microphone one. Check its all the way up and click the ".." to check "Mic Boost". Also look for "FRONT" if its there turn it up all the way.

4)Now the bit that usually causes the problem. The bottom Half (says Record) turn that volume thing (circle with a dot between - and +) all the way to the right.

5)On the right side it will either say "Realtek HD Digital input" or "Realtek HD Audio input" you want the AUDIO one.

6)Now it should have "AUX, MIC, LINE and STEREO MIX"

(Mic is microphone and stereo mix is the sounds on your desktop)

***You want ALL of them MUTE except MIC.

Turn on the mic on the headset (if you need to) and test it in sound recorder (Start>All Programs>Accessories>Entertainment ) or any program that uses it like MSN messenger.
