and what effect does this type of attachment have on the picture quality, if any? Thanks.
Well if the widget has a good first surface mirror (silvered on the front-not the back of the glass-to reduce ghost images) the only effect will be the effect that all mirror shots possess, images will be reversed left-to-right, trivial to "flop" them back using an editing program.
I should add that the widget works best with longer focal length lenses, wide angle lenses will vignette.
