How to Export Exchange Database from EDB to PST? by Adom Watsons
Most network administrators and Exchange Server managers often face the issue of database corruption, which when happens, stops the whole email dependant operations. It is quite evident that today most information is exchanged and transported via e-mails and therefore, it is the backbone of any system. Emails, when down and corrupted due to down Exchange Server and corrupted Exchange database, means nothing but business loss. The most tried and tested way to recover Exchange database contents is to extract the mailboxes info from Exchange database EDB file and save that data into usable PST format.
When Exchange database EDB file gets corrupted, then the first round of recovery involves the search for an apt solution for this purpose. Then after selection, the second round comes, which is of performing the real recovery process using that solution. Following article will help you cross the first round by telling you the available solutions and options to export Exchange database from EDB to PST.
First Solution: Data from Exchange database can be recovered and extracted from EDB files and can be exported to PST file using built-in utilities of MS Exchange system. These tools are used to export mailboxes data from EDB file. Use of these methods depends upon the version of MS Exchange bring in use and its corresponding database file. One such utility is ExMerge, which helps in exporting all mailboxes from EDB file to PST file. It is used for older Exchange versions (4.0, 5.0, 5.5, 2000, & 2003). Other utility, which is the Export_Mailbox CmdLet helps to recover Exchange mailboxes from EDB into PST from newer version of Exchange (2007 version Service Packs 1 to 3).
Below given are the steps for using ExMerge utility for recovering data from EDB to PST
Double-click on the âExmerge.exeâ file to run ExMerge utility
Here, click âNextâ for starting the âMicrosoft Exchange Mailbox Wizardâ
Now, select âExtract or Import (Two Step Procedure)â option
After that, click Next
Select this option that states â âStep 1: Extract data from an Exchange Server Mailboxâ
Now, click Next
Feed the Exchange Server name which holds the EDB file which is to be recovered
Click âOptionsâ tab if you want to select any additional options
Here, you can select all the desired options
Click OK for returning to previous screen
Again, click Next here
Select he database (s) which are needed to be recovered
Once more, click the Next button
Select the mailbox (s) that you wish to export
And then, click Next
Select default location
Click Next again
Select destination location to store converted PST file (s)
Click Next
You can either save these settings for future use or you can click âNextâ for continuing with the process without saving these settings. Saved settings can be later used for running ExMerge utility in the batch mode
Finally, click Finish
Exported PST can be found at the location you specified during the process
Second Solution (Recommended One): The easier, better and faster method to export Exchange database form EDB to PST Converter is to use the much easier, faster, and better solution, which is Exchange Recovery software. It is an external solution available at a nominal charge. It is save your time, energy and effort, which might go into trying the above method. Above mentioned method doesnât work always, but if you use Exchange Recovery software, it gives 99.9% guarantee of successful results and flawless recovery of Exchange data.

Front-end Cat Converter for Mazda Protege 2002?
My 2002 Mazda Protege has two catalytic converters, one along the exhaust pipe as usual and another that mounts directly to the engine at the manifold. I need the front-end, direct mount converter at a reasonable price, which is to say about... $300 or less??? Can anyone suggest a place where I might inquire?
Keep in mind this info is specific to Canadian Mazdas:
Last year I had to replace the Front Cat on my 2002 Protege5. It was covered under the often forgotten about Emissions Warranty.
This warranty is good until 96 Months or 128,000 kms (~80,000 miles).
I don't know for sure, but if you are not in Canada I would suspect your country's "Mazda People" offer the same or similar protection.
Before you shell out the cash, check with Mazda online, call them or pop into a dealer to see if you're covered.
