Lens repair approximate cost?

My lens got sand in the focus mechanism and works fine but feels just a teeny bit grindy. I emailed sigma about it but I'm still waiting for a response. So in the meantime I'm interested in seeing how much people usually spend to fix this sort of thing. My specific lens is the sigma 30mm 1.4 for cano eos, although I'm interested in any experiences, not just ones similar to mine. Thanks.
