There are three cartons of vases, each containing 8 good vases and 2 defective vases.
A buyer selects 2 vases at random from each carton to check. If both vases selected from a carton are good, he will accept the carton; otherwise, he will reject the carton.
Find the probablity that:

(a)He will accept a carton.
(b)He will accept all three cartons.
(c)He will accept at least one carton.

I got the answer for part (a) and part (b),
but I can't get the answer for part (c)?

You can use the hypergeometric distribution to find the solution

Let X be the number of defective vases selected. X has the hypergeometric distribution with the following parameters.

K = number of items to be drawn = 2
N = total objects = 10
M = number of objects of a given type = 2

The probability mass function for the hypergeometric distribution is defined as:

P(X = x | N, M, K) = ( M C x ) * ( (N - M) C (K - x) ) / ( N C K )
for x = {0, ..., K}; M - (N - K) ≤ x ≤ K

P(X = 0 | N, M, K) = 0 otherwise
